# Runlayer Documentation

> Go all in on AI across any tool, any agent, anywhere. AI enablement and control in one platform.

## Get started

Runlayer separates day-to-day usage from setup and governance:

* **End users** access org-approved tools, skills, and agents through the [Runlayer Plugin](https://docs.runlayer.com/runlayer-plugin.md) or [Agents](https://docs.runlayer.com/platform-agents.md) — they see a curated surface, not the setup behind it. Users without an admin role get the default **User** role and can only use MCPs they've been granted access to.
* **Builders and developers** create [connectors](https://docs.runlayer.com/platform-connectors.md), [skills](https://docs.runlayer.com/platform-skills.md), and [agents](https://docs.runlayer.com/platform-agents.md) from the dashboard, and can deploy custom MCP servers with [Runlayer Deploy](https://docs.runlayer.com/platform-deploy.md).
* **Admins** assign [roles](https://docs.runlayer.com/platform-roles.md), define [policies](https://docs.runlayer.com/platform-policies.md), and monitor activity with [sessions](https://docs.runlayer.com/platform-sessions.md) and [audit logs](https://docs.runlayer.com/platform-audit-logs.md).

See [Roles & Permissions](https://docs.runlayer.com/platform-roles.md) for the full access model, including how platform-feature access (FGA) and MCP tool invocation (PBAC) are enforced independently.
