Hi, I'm Isaac Adjei 👋

Electronic Engineering and Computer Science student at Aston University, Birmingham, working where hardware meets software. I design circuits and PCBs, write firmware from bare-metal C to Rust, build full-stack platforms and write free teaching material. I have monocular vision, so I build with accessibility first. Everything below is open source.

Zacess: a free reader that turns PDFs, scans, photos of handouts, Word files and web pages into high-contrast notes in your own reading profile, then reads them aloud. A Rust core compiled to WebAssembly does the work in the browser, so no file is ever uploaded. Try it at app.zacess.com or read more at zacess.com.

Zacess Themes: the same four contrast themes for code editors and terminals, generated from one palette with every text colour at 7:1 contrast and checked under three kinds of colour blindness. On the VS Code Marketplace, Open VSX and the Obsidian community directory, with Neovim, JetBrains, Zed, Sublime Text, Helix, Emacs and terminal versions. Try them on 20 languages.

Vitafolio: build, store and share every version of a CV, each with its own theme, privacy setting and link. Live at vitafolio.isaacadjei.me.

git-unlocked: a free Git curriculum in 12 sections and over 220 files, covering seven Git platforms on Windows, macOS and Linux. CC BY-SA 4.0 and archived on Zenodo.

PHAEMOS: an IoT predictive maintenance platform. ESP32, STM32, Arduino and Pico 2W sensor nodes stream telemetry to a FastAPI backend where an Isolation Forest flags anomalies before a machine fails. Plus a live dashboard, a Rust edge gateway and KiCad hardware.

MELOPHOS: LED light bars that teach piano, with guitar next, in active development. An ESP32-S3 hub reads MIDI, a Rust engine scores every note and a browser Studio tracks progress.

isaacadjei.me: my portfolio of projects, research, a blog, an interactive lab and public stats, built with Next.js and TypeScript. Its source is published after every deploy.

Hardware and embedded

Two-Stage Audio Amplifier: a TL071 active band-pass filter into an OPA551 power buffer driving an 8 Ω speaker. Simulated, breadboarded and built as a custom PCB.

NeoPixel LED Cube: a 4x4x4 WS2812B cube on an Arduino Uno with animation modes and light-sensor brightness.

AVR-Zac: bare-metal C on the ATmega644P with state machines, interrupts, PWM and ADC.

Why sponsor me?

  • Keep Zacess free and private for everyone who finds standard documents hard to read
  • Keep git-unlocked free and growing for learners everywhere
  • Fund PCBs and components for PHAEMOS, MELOPHOS and new builds
  • Cover hosting as Zacess, PHAEMOS and MELOPHOS grow
  • Give a student more time for open source work alongside a degree

@zaccesss

5 monthly sponsors would cover hosting for PHAEMOS and MELOPHOS as they go live. They would also fund PCBs and components for new hardware builds and give me time to keep growing git-unlocked with new sections and interactive examples.

Open industrial IoT platform for predictive maintenance: four sensor nodes, a FastAPI backend, Isolation Forest anomaly detection and a live Next.js dashboard. Reveal before failure.

    TypeScript 5
  2. melophos/melophos

Open instrument learning platform: an ESP32-S3 hub lights the notes on any keyboard or guitar, logs every note and scores practice on a self-hosted server.

    Python 2
  3. zaccesss/git-unlocked

Practical Git learning guide covering version control foundations, GitHub, GitLab, branching, collaboration workflows and advanced command line usage.

  4. zaccesss/astoncv

Archived coursework edition of AstonCV, a CV database website in plain PHP and MySQL. Continued as Vitafolio.

    PHP 1
  5. zaccesss/two-stage-audio-amplifier

A two-stage audio amplifier: active band-pass filter (TL071) into unity-gain power buffer (OPA551). Designed in Proteus, built on breadboard and PCB.

  6. zaccesss/neopixel-led-cube

Adaptive 4x4x4 NeoPixel LED cube project with Arduino firmware, sensor driven brightness, button controls, animation modes, build docs and media.
