Trial the measured 1 reactor-thread / 8 ordinary-fork allocation through an explicit chronicle.ci.mode=pr lifecycle. Protected tests retain one fresh JVM; repository worker caps also apply to the separate managed aggregate mode. Existing Build-All and normal Maven invocations keep their current configuration.

Validation on native Linux / Java 21, based on 5ac4c0bfbf21b3660f973d4b7b61703a1f26bcf3:

  • Full managed lifecycle passed in 5.4s with zero retries; all 44 testcase/outcome/skip entries and dependency JAR hashes match the retained reference.
  • Effective-model checks passed for the requested execution policy and unchanged legacy configuration.
  • Existing protections, special artifact checks and required modes remain part of the complete route.
  • Earlier protected layout comparison selected 1x8 (5.271s); single observations are not a production optimum or reliability claim.
mvn -B -ntp -T1 -Dbuild-all=true -Drun-mapping-tests -Dchronicle.ci.mode=pr -Dchronicle.ci.stage=main clean verify

This proposal is ready for review and individual PR qualification. Existing Snapshot checks do not activate the new mode. TeamCity #185 adds the separate managed PR check, recursive report import and manual Build-All Eight project. Those checks require the settings change to be reviewed and made live; the existing Build-All remains in service throughout. The current Build-All, its membership, triggers and promotion remain unchanged. Other platform/profile routes and source-aligned aggregate qualification remain open gates.

Unsafe tests are intended to move into the ordinary batch as each hazard is fixed and complete repeated concurrent inventories qualify that move.
