I design and build systems.
The interesting part is usually the tradeoffs: what to keep simple, what needs to be solid, and where things tend to break when real load hits.
Rust is what I reach for most of the time.
Python and C are solid too.
I use the web stack (Next.js, TypeScript, Laravel and the rest) when there’s an actual product to ship.
Right now I’m spending time on:
- Systems design, especially constraints and failure modes
- Math and physics (still early, started not long ago)
- Information security. I’ve gone in and out of it a few times. Still looking for the angle that sticks
- AI, mostly as a tool for other things. The fun part is building stuff that used to feel impossible
Outside of work I play chess and make music.
