Schedule

The network, hardening, and CPCSC courses run most months, the 1-day courses on a Friday, all 9:00 to 16:30 Eastern. Security Integrator Fundamentals usually runs in the evening, two nights a week over 3 to 4 weeks. The course calendar has every date, which ones are guaranteed to run, and online registration. The 2 Datacom courses are in-person courses run on your site by request, for a hall, a distributor, or a company. An online cohort opens for individuals now and then, and it goes on the calendar when it does.

How the courses run

Live, instructor-led, online. Private delivery at your site for groups of 6 or more. The daytime courses run 9:00 to 16:30 Eastern, and the 1-day courses are a single day on the same clock. Evening runs are 2 nights a week over 3 to 4 weeks.

Groups are capped at 12 so there is time for every participant's questions. Hans teaches every session himself. There is no slide reader and no guest instructor.

Dates are listed above and on each course page. Booking is by contact form or email with the date and the number of seats, and the invoice follows once your seat is confirmed. A cohort with fewer than 4 confirmed seats a week out moves to the next month, and you are told before you travel.

Continuing professional education

Every course is eligible for continuing professional education credit. The certificate lists the contact hours for submission to bodies that accept instructor-led training. That covers the common security and IT bodies that take self-reported hours with a certificate, and most provincial licensing bodies that accept instructor-led technical training. Check with yours before you book if the credit is the point.

Group and corporate bookings

The Datacom courses are built to run for a whole room at once: union halls and training centres, electrical distributors hosting their contractor customers, and alarm, CCTV, and access control companies putting a crew through together. Group and corporate rates apply, and the course comes to your site.

A distributor can host a cohort for its contractor customers. A union hall can run it as part of an upgrade program. An alarm or CCTV company can put every technician through the same three days and stop arguing about terminations. Send the group size, the location, and the rough timing, and the group rate comes back with the quote. Ask about a group booking.

Private delivery

Any course can run at your site for a single organisation, with the examples drawn from the equipment you deploy and your own installs. Integrators usually book this for a crew between projects. Electrical contractors book the Datacom course before taking on their first structured cabling scope. Ask with the group size and the rough timing and the quote follows.

Free self-paced courses

The live courses build on the free Study Learning suite. Take these first if you want the foundations before you sit in a room, or afterward to keep the material fresh. They run in the browser with animated CLI, knowledge checks, and a final assessment.
