Return Policy
Security Snobs strives to make sure each customer is 100% satisfied with their purchase. We are happy to provide our customers free assistance with our entire range of products. If you or your installer is simply having problems with installation please contact us via telephone or through our website. High Security locks are generally assembled by our locksmiths at time of order, they are not an off the shelf item and returning keyed products generally have fees with them.
For non-defective (per our determination) items a restocking fee may apply. All major items from Security Snobs are individually shrink-wrapped for the customer's convenience and security. If items are returned unopened with the shrink-wrap intact, a restocking fee of 5% may apply. If items are returned opened with the shrink-wrap torn or removed, a restocking fee of 15% may apply. For keyed items a rekeying fee may apply. This is to cover the cost of cut keys (keys cannot be reissued) and rekeying the locks for the next customer. The rekeying fee will not exceed $15 per key and $30 per cylinder and is frequently much less. Masterkeying fees are non-refundable and are in addition to normal rekeying fees. Please note that if you have items keyed alike or master keyed then opening one item is the same as opening them all (as they all must be rekeyed). Orders over $10,000 are subject to conditional approval if items have been ordered specifically for that order from the supplier.
Before returning a product to us you must contact us via telephone or through our website to obtain a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number. The RMA number should be included on the outside of the package to ensure that we accept your return. Upon arrival we will inspect the returned items and issue a refund or exchange (as outlined in this return policy and/or prior arrangements with the customer).
Please note that shipping charges are non-refundable. Orders that qualified for free or discounted shipping will have the actual shipping cost deducted from the total return amount. In addition, please ensure shipments to Security Snobs are shipped with a method that includes delivery confirmation. Security Snobs is not responsible for packages that are lost or damaged in transit.
Customers who file chargebacks or asset recovery outside of the return policy may be liable for collection fees up to 35% of the order total (in addition to the order total). Upon successful collection any products or parts returned will be returned to customer.
The Major Points of our Return Policy
- Most items are returnable and if sealed are generally only subject to a maximum 5% restocking fee, opened items can have up to a 15% restocking fee
- Keyed items (items that take a key) are subject to an additional rekeying fee, at a maximum of $30 per cylinder and $15 per key (although most Abloy/BiLock are $15 per cylinder and $10 per key)
- Some items are not returnable, see the items in red below for details
- If items are keyed alike or master keyed opening one item is the same as opening them all, as they must be all rekeyed

The Full Details
Virtually all of our non-special order products may be returned within 30 days from the time of order for a refund or exchange. Please note that special order items and certain others are non-refundable. These include the EVVA MCS Locks, Sargent & Greenleaf 833/951 padlocks, Abloy Boda Guard, Simon Voss padlocks, Abloy PL321 padlock, all custom order items, and certain cutaways. Additionally, items that are engraved, stamped, or programmed cannot be returned.
